Seven years ago, the vision for a new cafeteria at LBJ Hospital began as a distant dream. Today, that dream has finally come to fruition with the grand opening of the LBJ Hospital Cafeteria. The road to completion was met with significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, changes in hospital leadership, and shifts within the board. Despite these obstacles, CEO Scott Anesi successfully oversaw the renovation project through to its completion in 2024.
During the opening ceremony, the LT Governor delivered remarks highlighting his pride in the achievement and expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the cafeteria a reality. He specifically acknowledged the dedication of hospital staff, including doctors, nurses, and security officers, who worked tirelessly throughout the process. The celebration also featured a tour of the newly renovated facilities, allowing attendees to experience the upgraded space firsthand, as well as sample lunch made from the cafeteria and its upgraded equipment.
